All conditions and diseases that fall under the scope of internal medicine are treated in our practice. We see patients for both chronic and episodic or acute diseases. What makes us unique is that we look at you in a holistic manner. Your family, work situation and home life all impact on your health. We want to assist in anyway possible to allow you to take full charge of your health care. Our goal is to make you pro-active in your health. Our focus is disease prevention and health promotion.
Asthma & seasonal allergies: our practice focuses not only on controlling symptoms with medications but also teaching you how to identify and avoid triggers
School and work required physicals are scheduled to allow for adequate time for discussions of concerns you may have and also medical alerts the provider may find.
Sport Physicals include a step stress test to evaluate the response of your heart during physical activity.
Headache/migraines care include discussion re: headache triggers
Joint/Back pain care includes handouts for exercises you can do at home to protect and heal your joints.
Diabetes care includes frequent visits to ensure you within the recommended guidelines of control. Our nursing staff is available for teaching.
Most chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol, thyroid diseases, psychosomatic illness and arthritis are given special attention to provide you with any needed teaching and discussion related to your individual condition.
Department of Transportation Exams
Annandale Women and Family Center provides physical examinations for commercial drivers that need to comply with the regulatory requirements of Department of Transportation. As part of the exam, we review the examinee’s health history, collect urine testing, and perform a physical exam, among others. After the necessary tests, we fill up your form on Medical Examination Report of Commercial Driver Fitness Determination and provide you with Medical Examiner’s Certificate. As an addition, we also give you and your health care provider a summary of your exam.
